Goyt Valley BBQ

Had a great time at Goyt Valley's BBQ.

Thanks to Nicola, Roshni, Alison, the girls from Goyt Valley, their two friends as well as Julia (Claire Hardwick's sister) for a great night. Also thanks to the chef who cooked on the BBQ.

Made even better by having cake and strawberries and cream for afters. Yum Yum

BBQ with Area 2's Honorary President

Had a fantastic day at Gaye and Lars' BBQ. Also took my husband Mark and our dog George.

We had georgeous Welsh Lobster and French Champagne. Then took the dog for a walk to the shop to get some ice-cream. George had an ice lolly to cool him down.

Thanks Gaye and Lars for inviting us to your house for a lovely quiet day.

Area 35's Handover and 50th Charter

Celebrated Lisa's year as Chair and welcomed Sally as the new Area Chair.

Started of the night at Alex's (incoming Vice Chair) house for pre-drinks and nibbles. It was lovely drinking fizzy stuff in her back garden.

Continued to Eewood Park to start the celebrations. There were lots of familiar faces including Karen Sprog and Naomi of course (she made it this time as she walked instead of driving). It was Karen Sprog's husband's birthday - what a better way to celebrate. He had a fantastic time.

On our table were a lovely engraved candle holder for the ladies and a bottle of Bitter for the blokes as well as chocolate money and wine. There is a theme here - wine and chocolate.

After our lovely meal, we hit the dance floor and busted our grove as well as Karen's lip. "Blood on the Dancefloor". That's what you get when two people want the same mic!

The band were fabulous and definitely added to the night. You will see the photo of me and Kim with our tambourines - musical geniuses.

There is plenty of evidence of the night on Facebook and I think I saw Kevin with his video camera so watch out for Utube.

The wine and vodka flowed very well - what's a girl to do on a hot day, must cool down by drinking the clear stuff.

Thanks Doreen, Kevin, Mark and Katie for joining me and Doreen for driving us all back at 2am in the morning.

Good time had by all.

Area 2 Handover Rally

What a fantastic night. There was champagne on arrival where we then continued into a lovely room with a fantastic choir singing (I would have joined in but everybody would have gone home - my singing is as bad as my jokes). The table gifts of strawberry bag and chocolate (as well as the all important free wine) were a big hit.

Naomi, our National President had a bit of car trouble to say the least - head gasket gone! After arriving a little late, Naomi rushed down her meal - I have never seen somebody eat so quick. It was fantastic to see Naomi again and thank you for the lovely bracelet which I am wearing as I am writing this blog.

I was very rudely interrupted by the girls in Cheadle & Gatley. They arrested me for crimes against Circle. Who would have thought that my embarrassing photos would come back and bite me! Evidence such as me eating cake from a plate without a spoon, on the dance floor with my 80's style hair do and make up.

Gaye was very surprised at being asked to be Area 2's Honorary President. At least she did not cry on me.

The girls presented me with a fantastic pink survival bag. Inside were lots of lovely goodies such as Vodka (very important), joke book (need to practice telling GOOD jokes - promise not to laugh at my own jokes any more), bubble bath and bath cream for relaxing, alka-seltzer for when I have too many vodka's (as if), party feet so that I can get up and boogie all night, peppermint tea so that I don't have to be a pain in the a*se when coffee comes around, Galaxy Chocolate (a girls best friend), Vaseline so my lips are lovely and soft for all the smiley photos, In Style magazine to ensure I look fabulous on my little outings and much much more goodies.

Paddington Bear has started his travels. I do hope Poynton look after him and take lots of photo's. Looking forward to hearing about his adventures.

I received lots of lovely cards from the girls wishing me luck in my year as Area Chair and Doreen as started preparing my year book which I can't wait to see this time next year. I am sure it will give me lots of giggles.

My husband, Mark presented me with some lovely flowers. I promise not to kill them straight away. Mark also gave me a lovely bottle of Champagne.

It was fantastic to see all the girls again, some of which I have not seen in a while but who are always there when there is food and booze.

Anyway, signing off now - got to do this all again tonight when celebrating Area 35's Handover and 50th Charter in Blackburn - posh frocks all round.

No excuse from Naomi - she is walking to the party.

Raise lots of money for the Area Charity - Stockport Womens Centre. Thanks girls for your kind generosity.
